    June Coffee Fellowship Schedule

A list has been circulated to all families who are currently signed up to host the Sunday Morning Snacks.  But more families are welcome to join the rotation.  If you've been enjoying the fellowship time between Sunday School & Church and are wondering how you can help, please contact Martha Middleton to volunteer.

During June & July we will be hosting the college kids (approximately 75 students) as well as our own church family so the Church will be helping to underwrite the cost.  We are still only providing snacks, i.e. not a larger scale continental breakfast.

    Here are the June teams:
    • June 6th:  Welch, Stroh, Moss
    • June 13th:  Rowell, Hinkle, Jinks
    • June 20th:  Middleton, Ramos, J. Hayes (Father's Day)
    • June 27th:  D. DeVries, A. DeVries, L. DeVries, R. Simpson

    Mercy Uganda

    • Mercy Uganda will be holding a yard sale on Saturday, July 17th at the Cove Shopping Center. We are currently accepting donations of items for the sale.  If you have anything you would like to donate for our yard sale, please contact Laura Knetzer

    • We will be building a house for  Pastor John Kalenzi and his family in September.  Pastor Kalenzi is a friend to many from the Covenant family who have traveled to Uganda.  He lives in Rwengoma in the Fort Portal area and his home was recently destroyed in severe storms.  We are working on raising $3,500 to build the home, and recruiting team members to come along and help us build.  Pastor Sam Kasule will also be working closely with us in organizing from Fort Portal.  The team will stay in the Chedester home which is now vacant.  Below is a picture of Pastor Kalenzi's home before it was destroyed.

    • Please pray for us as we have several Covenant Church members in Uganda within a 3 week period working on various ministry opportunities, including finalizing plans for the well drilling project this summer, construction work on Morning Star School, child sponsorship updates and need assessment, addressing and meeting medical needs, and visiting an AIDs hospice.  Laura Knetzer leaves on June 8th, and Roth and Cylle Rowell, their daughter Katie, and Doug DeVries will leave on the 15th.
    Coming in July
    Psalm 33:12

Since the Fourth of July falls on Sunday this year, the Diaconate has decided to have a Covered Dish Lunch following the morning worship service instead of the traditional picnic we've had in the past.  Also, there will be no evening service so that you and your family may attend some of the celebrations and fireworks displays around the county.

More details will be coming soon, but as you're thinking ahead to the covered dish lunch, Covenant families will be asked to bring only salads & side dishes.  The church will provide all the meat, dessert & drinks.  However, remember that the College Kids will be with us for this luncheon, so include enough for extras.
