From the
Deacons:
The deacons have called a workday for
Saturday, September
19th from 7:30 am to noon. The main
focus of the workday is to clear out all of the
existing playground equipment and prepare for new
equipment to be installed on Tuesday, September
22nd.
The Lord continues to bless Covenant
Church and School with improvements to our
facilities through the resources of both church and
school families. In the last five years, we have
seen the expansion of our sanctuary, construction of
our gym and its additional classrooms, the facelift
of the kitchen and fellowship hall, the paving of
the driveway and installation of parking bumpers,
and most recently the improvements to the
educational building with new flooring , fresh
paint, and new ceiling tiles. The Lord has clearly
blessed the partnership of the church and school
over the years as they combine resources to maintain
and improve our facilities for all of Covenant's
families to use and enjoy to the glory of God.
Click on this link to see the new playground
equipment and design that will be installed on the
22nd of September. This has been a goal of Covenant
Church and School for many years and it is exciting
to see it become a reality. The funds to
pay for this new equipment (purchased at a greatly
reduced price) have come from the school's
facilities improvement fund that each school family
contributes to each year. This fund has
also recently covered the expenses of the awning on
the east main entrance to the educational building,
the new fence around the playground area, the video
surveillance system, air conditioning upgrades for
six classrooms, new classroom furniture, the new bus
and bus canopy cover. Our facilities team has also
begun modifying the north gym room into a
multipurpose extracurricular room to include dance,
karate, etc to open up a much needed classroom in
the educational building.
We look forward with great
excitement to many years of Covenant Church and
School enjoying this new playground equipment.
In addition to the clearing of the playground we
will do an overall cleaning of the grounds
(raking, trimming, clearing, etc.) across the
entire property. A continental breakfast will
be provided at 7:30 am to start the day as well
as lunch at noon. As always, all that we ask is
that you come when you can and leave when you
must but please come and help.

From
Covenant Christian School:
What a wonderful start we have
had this school year. It was only a few weeks
ago in July when we began to pray that we would
reach an enrollment of 275 students. At
the end of the second week of school, we are now
at 331 students and we are still receiving
inquires from other prospective students.
We have a great faculty and staff
and all are working hard to see this school year
be the best we have ever had.
CCS recently received an analysis of the
test scores of Covenant students from
the folks who provide the ACT, and we
were very pleased to see that our
students scored above the average for
the state of Florida in each of the
measured categories.
(Allison & Lauren Wit's 1st
day of Pre-School)
If you have not ventured into the
two story building in the last couple of weeks,
you will be very pleased at the wonderful
changes that have taken place. Bill Daughdrill
has headed up a committee of volunteers to
oversee the renovation and they have done a
wonderful job. Best of all, Bill and
others were able to solicit donors to cover the
cost of the project so that it was totally off
the school and church budget.
We thank you for your prayers as
we continue to make the shift to classical
Christian education at Covenant.
